How to use the calculators

Our tools are designed to be intuitive. Simply enter your numbers into the input fields, and click the "Calculate" button. The result will appear immediately in the right-hand box.

  • What percent is X of Y: Use this to find out what percentage one number represents of another total.
  • What is X% of Y: Use this to calculate a specific percentage of a number (e.g., calculating a tip).
  • Percentage Increase/Decrease: Use this to find the percentage difference between two values (e.g., price changes).

Common formulas

What percent is X of Y: (X ÷ Y) × 100
What is X% of Y: (X ÷ 100) × Y
Percentage change: ((New − Old) ÷ Old) × 100

Troubleshooting

If you're not getting a result:

  • Ensure you have entered valid numbers in all required fields.
  • Check that you haven't entered any non-numeric characters (like letters or symbols).
  • Try refreshing the page if the calculator seems unresponsive.
